TILL THE END OF THE EARTH is the result of a continuing evolution of James Halon’s approach to Melody-centric electronic/dance music. Initially starting with more minimal, darker Melodic Techno and progressing into deeper House music (Melodic, Progressive, Organic, etc. / pick a sub-sub-sub-genre). James’ influences of production aligns deeply with music he discovers and DJs during live streams, sets and shows.

Yet, even as James’ focus narrows when it comes to playing music, there is still a wide swath of influential music and sounds which continually impact the music he makes. From 80’s New Wave, 90’s Grunge, to more modern Indie Rock & Dance (AFFKT, the XX, LCD Soundsystem, Youth Lagoon, Future Islands), these all play a part in expanding and refining James’ approach to making music.

The seeds of this project started well over 2 years ago, but James couldn't figure out how to finish a collection of the tracks at the time. He parked them in his idea vault to be used for another day. Around a year later, James was working on a new track, which became “No Matter How Far”, and had a conceptual breakthrough which led him returning to the vault for further inspiration.

Fundamentally, what cracked the code was a return to his Indie Rock roots. James got this idea to add lyrics and vocals to the tracks. This isn't some revolutionary or even novel idea for the genre, but personally putting his voice out is a more vulnerable approach to creativity.

These five tracks are still firmly rooted in Progressive & Melodic sounds, but bring together Indie Rock & Dance inspirations both sonically and lyrically.
